Let's get PARKing

September 09, 2011

With her work for OutdoorKnit, Tash has become quite passionate about communities taking ownership of public spaces. After all, we are the primary users of the streets, parks and footpaths, so why not make something really special of them?

We're really excited to be taking our knitting outdoors on Friday September 16 for International PARKing Day. It's an annual event inviting people to take over car parking spaces and be creative. The car parks just in front of Holland Road Yarn Co will be converted into an outdoor knitting lounge - the best kind if you ask us!
Everyone is welcome to join us, to sit in a comfy chair, have a go at knitting and enjoy the fresh air. We'll have the ingredients for our Beekeeper's Quilt knit-along, and it's also the perfect time to bring along any tricky knitty questions you may have.

The plan:
What: PARKing day
When: 12pm - 4pm, Friday September 16
Where: Holland Road Yarn Company, 281 Jackson Street, Petone
